Historic Landmark Gate at Lindenwood University Damaged By Tractor Trailer

The Historic Landmark Gate at Lindenwood University, facing Madison Street, was damaged by a tractor trailer on Wednesday.

According to the University PR Department the driver that caused the damage initially left the scene but later returned and spoke with police.

The iconic structure, which was built in 1921, using donations from the institution's alumnae, suffered severe damage. The Lindenwood administration has already contacted stone restoration experts to seek proposals on repairing the structure.

Lindenwood President Michael Shonrock said he appreciated the alums and residents of the community who expressed their concern almost immediately.

Burglary at 519 South Main Street


A burglary was reported at 519 South Main Street. It occurred sometime overnight on Monday. Taken was an Ipad and cash.

Entry was gained by breaking a window in the back door.

Gun Stolen From Car 100 Block of College


a Mac Book Air and a smith & Wesson 380 Body Guard pistol were taken sometime Tuesday evening from a unlocked vehicle parked in the 100 block of College.
